Future Roles of Korean Americans in the Globalizing World

The 21st century’s challenges and opportunities are enormous. Significant challenges include environmental sustainability, health care, and security. Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman explains how the world is becoming hot, flat and crowded. The severe worldwide economic downturn is yet another revelation that the world is intimately connected and globalizing at Internet speed. In a world of increasing complexity, future workforces need to be innovative, work in teams, value and practice good ethics and lifelong learning with perseverance. Equipped with at least two cultures, Korean Americans can develop and exert sustainable leadership roles in all sectors of life to make the world better tomorrow. In this talk, I will share what I think would be helpful in educating young Korean Americans.
